Graduating in 2009 from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Vlahos made his first on screen appearance in the BBC drama Crash. Soon after he appeared in the daytime medical soap opera Doctors, where his episodes were nominated for ‘Best Single Episode’ and ‘Spectacular Scene of the Year’ at the British Soap Awards in 2010.

After his breakout success, Vlahos earned the role that would later become one of his most famous – Sir Mordred in series five of Merlin – a role previously played by Asa Butterfield.

No stranger to historical dramas he has appeared as Private Keenan in Privates (a mini television series set in the 1960’s), Roman Emperor Valentinian in the 2016 docudrama Barbarians Rising, and as Maurice Solovine in season one of the National Geographic series Genius.

Alongside his credited film and television roles, his involvement with audio productions has seen him voice Dorian Gray in Big Finish Productions audio series The Confessions of Dorian Gray, and the role of Bertie Potts in the Doctor Who spinoff The Diary of River Song, alongside Alex Kingston. Alexander also voiced Prisoner Zero in the Netflix series of the same name, and acted in the independent film, Firecracker.

Vlahos has also been heavily involved with theatre, including productions such as Fortune’s Fool and Macbeth, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Vlahos starred as one of the main cast in the sumptuous French period drama Versailles, playing the role of Philipe d’Orleans, the brother of the notorious King Louis XIV, in all 30 episodes of the show.

Alexander has been seen in Tourist Trap, new BBC Wales show Bang, and popular British show Death in Paradise. Most recently, Vlahos has portrayed the sinister Allan Christie in Outlander, Charles Lockhart in Sanditon and Paul Kenedy in Netflix’s Irish Wish.
