Anna Leong Brophy

Anna Leong Brophy is a British writer, comedian and actor known for a variety of roles and contributions to screen and stage. Most recently, Anna is known for the portrayal of Tamar Kir-Bataar in the second season of the Netflix series, Shadow and Bone.

Recognizable across a broad spectrum of productions, Anna’s television credits include Back, The Last Tango in Halifax, The Girl Before, Ragdoll, Traces, and Berlin Station, whilst her feature film credits include Paradise War and the 2021 Shaun the Sheep Christmas Special: The Flight Before Christmas, as the voice of Jin.

In addition to her growing credentials, Anna remains as one half of the comedy duo EGG, who have become known for various TV appearances and the podcast, Still Legit. She is also a founding member of award-winning improv group BattleActs.

Anna has written for CBBC’s Class Dismissed and the Aardman Animation series Lloyd of the Flies. Her work also ventures into the video game market, lending her voice and likeness to characters in Horizon: Forbidden West, Total War: Warhammer III, numerous other Warhammer games and Sifu.

Most recently, Brophy can be seen portraying the heartrender Tamar Kir-Bataar in Netflix’s Shadow and Bone. A fan-favourite character, Tamar plays an integral part in the second season of the hit show. Brophy can also be heard as numerous characters, including Antinia the Goon, Apprentice Neeme, Bosun Sharley and more in the hit game Baldur’s Gate III.
