Evan Williams
Evan Williams is a Canadian actor and musician, best known for his roles as Kelly Ashoona in Degrassi: The Next Generation and Chevalier in the historical drama Versailles.
Born into a creative household, his passion for the arts was supported, being involved in productions prior to pursuing a professional career later in life. Studying theatre at Ryerson University in Toronto, Williams stimulated his love for theatre throughout his studies, receiving a number of accolades for his subsequent involvement in musicals. Since graduation, he has appeared in productions spanning both film and television.
In 2008, Williams appeared in his first major television role as Kelly Ashoona in the Canadian drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. Following the adversities of student life, the role opened new avenues for the young actor and led him down a successful path in the industry. His other notable television roles include Baxter McNab in the comedy series Baxter, and Luke in MTV’s Awkward.
Making himself visible on the silver screen, Williams appeared in films such as A Flesh Offering, and HBO’s Grey Gardens, where he starred alongside Drew Barrymore.
With an interest in history and an eye for extravagant costumes, Williams is now best known for his role as the Chevalier de Lorraine in the historically encapsulating series, Versailles. Appearing alongside Alexander Vlahos, Williams perfectly portrayed the manipulation and deceptiveness of the character, consuming the time period with style.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Evan Williams has also appeared in episodes of The Rookie and Fuller House, as well as the movies A Date by Christmas Eve and Midnight at the Magnolia. Evan appeared in the fourth season of HBO’s Westworld and as Eddy Robinson Jr. in the Marilyn Monroe fictionalized psychological thriller, Blonde.
Most recently, Williams can be seen in the lead role of Elliot Augustine in the Hallmark original series, The Way Home.
