Amita Suman
Amita Suman is a Nepali-British actress known for a variety of roles across film and television, recognised best for her portrayal of Inej Ghafa in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone and for her recurring role as Naya in the CW series, The Outpost.
In the same year of graduating from the Academy of Live and Recorded, Suman made her television debut with minor roles in Casualty and Ackley Bridge, but 2018 did not stop there. Opening a gateway for the young actress, Suman landed the major role of Umbreen, a younger version of companion Yasmin Khan’s grandmother in the Doctor Who series 11 episode Demons of the Punjab – a role that saw her embraced by the Whovian fan base.
In 2019, Suman took over the recurring role of Naya in the second season of the CW series, The Outpost, a role that was formerly portrayed by Medalion Rahimi. Taking things to the next level once again, Suman was announced for the main role of Inej Ghafa in the Netflix series, Shadow and Bone, an adaptation of Grishaverse novel series by Leigh Bardugo.
Most recently, Suman can be seen as Nora in Netflix’s adaptation of The Sandman.
