Jonas Armstrong

Jonas Armstrong is an Irish-English actor known for a variety of roles on screen including the portrayal of the titular character in the BBC series Robin Hood, as well as appearances in Edge of Tomorrow, Ripper Street and Troy: Fall o a City.

Graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2003, Armstrong soon ventured into his first major television role as Anthony Millington in the fourth season of the comedy-drama, Teachers. Less than a year later, Armstrong graced television screens in another recurring role, joining the cast of The Ghost Squad as Pete Maitland.

In 2006, Armstrong was cast as Robin Hood in the popular BBC series of the same name, delivering a performance that was not only praised by critics but also catapulted the young actor into a unique fandom. His residency as the famous rebel spanned three seasons, garnering a loyal audience up until it’s final episode in 2009.

Armstrong has since demonstrated his versatility as an actor, stepping into vastly different roles across a spectrum of genres including the likes Edge of Tomorrow as Skinner, Line of Duty as Joe, Ripper Street as Nathaniel, Troy: Fall of a City as Menelaus, The Bay as Sean Meredith, Strike as Saul Morris and After the Flood as Lee.
