Roger Ashton-Griffiths

Roger Ashton-Griffiths is an English screenwriter, director and actor, best known for his role as Mace Tyrell in the highly acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones

Graduating with a number of degrees in the creative industry, Griffiths began his career as a singer in the English National Opera. Since graduation, the veteran actor has appeared in a number of high profile films including Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, The Brothers Grimm, The Wind in the Willows, and Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York. In 2014, he portrayed a dead ringer Alfred Hitchcock in Oliver Dahan’s Grace of Monaco

Working extensively in television, Griffiths has also been heavily involved in several small screen productions including Jack the Ripper, Merlin, The Tudors, Doctor Who, Torchwood and Coronation Street

In 2013, Griffiths was announced in the role of Mace Tyrell for the fourth season of Game of Thrones. His character played a vital role in the series progression, however met his demise at the end of season six. 

Roger Ashton-Griffiths has also appeared in Taboo opposite Tom Hardy and Breathe opposite Andrew Garfield. Roger’s most recent roles were as Ralph Butterworth in Disney’s Christopher Robin and in North Star, alongside Emily Beecham, Scarlet Johannson, Sienna Miller, Freida Pinto and Kristin Scott Thomas.
